3 Simple Habits of Highly Successful People

Most people equate success to having money and power. But being successful can take many different forms. Whether you’re a stay-at-home mom who wants to run a successful household, a school-teacher who wants to successfully run a classroom, or a CEO striving for success in business, these 3 simple habits of highly successful people will work for any person no matter what your goal is!

  1. Being Organized

Successful people prioritize EVERYTHING- every task from big to small. They understand that they can’t be all over the place and still do things well. They like to keep their living and working spaces simple and clean because clutter is proven to decrease clear thinking and productivity. Successful people often set aside large amounts of time solely dedicated to making sure they stay organized when it comes to goal planning and strategy building.

TIP!

Write out a to-do list the night before each day and identify your Big 3 – what 3 things on that list HAVE to get done no matter what. Do those things first and work on the other tasks once those are completed

2.Taking Breaks

I once heard a rich person remark, “Successful, wealthy people don’t take a break when their done. They take a break when they’re tired.”

Exhaustion and fatigue greatly alter our minds’ ability to think clearly and effectively. You may be able to produce when working tired, but chances are it won’t be your best. Successful people make a habit of taking short breaks often instead of waiting to rest once the work is done.

TIP!

Plan 10-15 minute breaks throughout your day. Get away from screens to give your eyes a rest. Step outside for fresh air. Have a small, healthy snack. These things refresh your energy and cause your neural synapses to fire more rapidly which results in high productivity levels.

3.Taking Action

Most importantly, successful people take action. They don’t spend all of that time organizing and planning for nothing!

They understand that inaction is a horrible waste of time, which is one resource that success and money can’t buy once it’s gone. They also know that success requires risks. Successful people rarely fall short of their goals because they know how important it is to follow through with the plan and strategies they’ve established to accomplish it.

TIP!

Create S.M.A.R.T goals- Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Relevant, Timely. The more you know about your goal, the better the chances are that you will actually reach it.

For example, your goal to “save money for a vacation” may not be as successful as “saving $150 a week for 5 months by making coffee at home, taking lunches to work, and temporarily cancelling 3 subscriptions for my vacation to Beijing”

It doesn’t take some special gene to become successful. Success is more about your character than having all of the right resources and advantages.
